Engineering and Technical
1.) Job purpose:
Domain product engineering knowledge of Vibratory compactor product line including all sub system integration knowledge like Structure, Driveline, Powertrain, Hydraulics, Electrical interfacing. Dimensions:
Position Responsibility:
Responsible for delivering the Projects from Vehicle integration perspective coordinating with all Functional competencies.
2.) Key Result Areas (KRA’s) / Measures of Performance (MOP’s):
· Complete technical understanding of vibratory compactors including all sub system.
· Thorough VI (Vehicle integration) knowledge and should be able to manage Master model activities for the product line.
· Execute vehicle level performance calculations for Vehicle dynamics.
· Strong fundamental knowledge of vehicle structures, sub-components & their interactions.
· Strong fundamental knowledge (theoretical & practical) of Weld procedure, Weld Quality, Engineering mechanics, GD&T, CREO 3D Modeling & 2D Drafting.
· Should have thorough knowledge of System and Component level DFMEA.
· Understanding of FEA & Strain Correlation Reports. Experience in Weld fatigue as per BS 7608.
· Generate Benchmarking information like – Performance, Features & Systems for future vibratory compactor projects.
· Manage releases of Structures, Bracketry system design for the product line.
· Identify technology and process improvement initiatives for vibratory compactor product line.
· Basic understanding of soil mechanics and alignment to machine performance.
· Create & coordinate Validation activities related to New/Current vehicles.
3.) Background Information and Main activities:
· Ensure the Vehicle integration for New Product development programs.
· Design, develop Structural and bracketry parts for the product line.
· Carry out /ensure the design release related to VA/VE Projects.
· Conduct /ensure the design release related to Current products. Resolving Product quality issues like Current product issues/profiles as per target response time.
· Study FEA reports to identify issues in design phase and come up with corrective actions to resolve issues virtually.
· Identify technology and process improvement initiatives for product.
· Preparing and Monitor Time-plan to actual variance and drive corrective measures to mitigate issues in Ongoing project deliverables.
4.) Competencies and Skill Set Required:
· Define product mission profile and customer’s needs. Multiple systems understanding, application and integration to achieve vehicle performance requirements.
· CREO 3D Modeling 2D Drafting.
· Strong fundamental knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing Principles, DFMEA & Visual Mock-up basic knowledge.
· Understanding of tools used for Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving.
· Application knowledge of PLM Tools (e.g. Teamcenter & Enovia).
· Excellent Communication & Interpersonal skills.
· Good presentation skills.
5.) Work Relationship:
Internal Contacts Purchase, Quality, Mfg. Engg, Global PD team, Global PV team, DA&S (Design analysis and Simulation) group, Platform, Engg Services, Supplier Quality Engg.
External Contacts Suppliers & Vendors, Testing agencies, Engineering solution providers etc
