Job Purpose

Sourcing Specialist II is an individual contributor role that collaberate with suppliers for Metallic – Forging and Maching domain & assigned items.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate external price trends, market trends and new product offerings to reduce overall purchasing costs.
• Collaborates with suppliers to assure the quality of their products, materials, components and/or operations and develops supply recommendations.
• Ensures suppliers can meet forecasted demand.
• Must coordinate efforts in the reduction of purchasing/engineering costs and establishing cost for new products. Continuously explore the cost improvement ideas through VA/VE in close coordination with suppliers
• Working closely with Engineering / Supplier Quality / Suppliers for technical review. Must understand technical aspect of Forging & Machined parts should be able to convey the requirements to suppliers
• Actively engage with current and new suppliers to maintain a competitive supply base for the commodity assigned, may select, recommend, and manage relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.
• Strategically sourcing of parts to obtain the best total cost, quality, delivery for the plants
• Manage key supplier relationship, Conduct Monthly/Quarterly business reviews with the key suppliers and generate ideas of cost improvement through regular involvement /participation from suppliers.  
• Establishing long term agreement with Strategic Suppliers
• Travel as necessary to respective suppliers
• Other related duties as assigned

Experience Required

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering Preferred)
• A minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience.
• This role requires understanding of Forging / Machining process and Raw Material market trends to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
• The candidate should have knowledge of Supplier base regionally & globally.
