Job Purpose

The planter integration engineer is a member of the Vehicle Design team and regularly coordinates the interface between new product development, current offering support, manufacturing support, and the Vehicle Electronics team from an engineering capacity.  This role acts as the first point of contact with the manufacturing and Product Validation teams on questions of how planter electronic system designs interface and operate.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities includes:

  • Manage electrical system designs with high level direction and formulate independent solutions from project inception to completion;
  • Support solutions to both cross-functional and independent applications;
  • Coordinate with industry component manufacturers, purchasing, and supplier quality to ensure the most effective and efficient design solutions.
  • Be responsible for designing and supervising the integration of electrical wire harnesses, including any retention, fixation, and auxiliary structural elements;
  • Be responsible for developing requirements for the major electrical components and the I/O supporting those components with the platform Vehicle Electronics team;
  • Be the point of contact for electrical component integration during prototype builds and production launch, and develop proficiency with the end-of-line tool.
  • Will develop proficiency with CANalyzer operation and support the Product Validation team with resolving and verifying issues with new and current designs;
  • Is expected to contribute ideas for innovation and cost reduction to the full product offering;
  • Be responsible to assure that power and signal design information is accurate, up to date, and communicated effectively for database capture;
  • Be responsible to support development of product test plans and their execution.

 

Experience Required

•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or equivalent field;
•    2+ years’ experience in engineering, preferably in electrical / harness design;
•    Experience with the Siemens Capital harness 2D design suite, or equivalent
•    Experience with current 3D modeling suites;
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of tools;

Preferred Qualifications

•    Experience with Creo Parametric CAD suite, Cabling application
•    Experience with TeamCenter/TcBOM PLM data management
•    Experience with electronic and hydraulic controls systems and their designs
•    Proficient with industry standard tools provided by the Vector CAN Tool
•    Hands-on experience with 12V/24V construction, agricultural, or other related off-highway equipment design
•    Knowledge of relevant industry standards (ISO13849, ISO25119 ISO11783, ISO6722, SAEJ1939, SAE1128, SAE1127)
•    Knowledge of electrical wiring harness manufacturing

Pay Transparency

​The annual salary for this role is USD $63,000.00 – $92,400.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
