Job Purpose
The Demand Planning Specialist is responsible for forecasting and planning customer demand to ensure that products are available to meet market needs while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing costs. This role involves analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and customer inputs to create accurate demand forecasts, working closely with cross-functional teams such as sales, supply chain, and production.
In addition, the role will provide support to Region manufacturing plants and management to validate customer demand from other Regions, and participate in the resulting manufacturing allocations through the global S&OP process and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends or outlooks, inventory levels, and Business Manager and customer insights to reasonably forecast future demand.
- The detail scope can be variable based on the specific business need. Some may be more directional, while others may be very detailed and finite.
- Create and maintain/adapt all documentation/worksheets to be used during sales-planning discussions. Eventually to be competent to facilitate those related discussions and decisions.
- Includes the related maintenance and input to global planning tools to align with the planning decisions/directions.
- Monitoring and supporting the order-management process on an ongoing basis. Where required, support the order-management team to faciliate solutions as-best-possible.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, production, and supply chain teams to coordinate assumptions/input on market conditions, promotions, and inventory needs.
- Monitor and track forecast performance, identifying deviations from actual sales and implementing corrective actions to improve forecasting accuracy.
- Ensure alignment between demand forecasts and production schedules to meet customer requirements while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing stockouts or excess stock.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve demand planning processes, including the use of advanced forecasting tools and methodologies.
- Provide and develop/improve regular reports and updates on demand trends, forecast accuracy, and inventory status to senior management.
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate should have a high level of ‘soft people’ skills. Comfortable to interact collaboratively and proactively with colleages of various functions/expertise, with the goal of developing good working relationships to build plans and solutions that have the best/balanced interest of the customer and CNH.
