Be part of this company at the forefront of agriculture and construction, that passionately innovates to drive customer efficiency and success. And we know innovation can’t happen without collaboration. So, everything we do at CNH Industrial is about reaching new heights as one team, always delivering for the good of our customers.
Job Purpose
Design, develop, and validate robotics and AI on-vehicle components (perception, sensor fusion, localization/SLAM, path planning, and control), integrating them on edge GPU platforms (NVIDIA Jetson) and in simulation environments (Unreal/Unity), in close collaboration with Product, Validation, and Safety teams.
Develop innovative new products to solve problems using AI techniques such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative, and Agentic AI to drive Artificial Intelligence (AI) advancements in new product development and provide continual refinement of existing products once they are fielded.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop ML/DL‑based software systems to drive innovation and improve usability, from prototyping to production-quality deployment.
- Build perception and sensor‑fusion pipelines (e.g., camera/LiDAR/Radar), including detection, tracking, and state estimation for mobile robotics.
- Implement and tune localization, mapping (SLAM), path planning, guidance, and control for low‑speed outdoor missions in structured environments (e.g., rows, slopes, variable soil/traction).
- Write, evaluate, and document software using TDD practices, creating robust unit/integration tests and leveraging field testing to validate performance.
- Design automated system test environments and simulation frameworks (digital twins, regression suites) to accelerate validation and continuous integration.
- Conduct manual bench/lab/field tests and prepare software for pilot, field, and customer installation, including packaging, release notes, and deployment instructions.
- Research, investigate, and select algorithms, tools, and technical data pertinent to assigned projects; perform trade studies and benchmarking to inform design choices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to gather requirements, obtain datasets, and communicate engineering needs, constraints, and results.
- Establish data pipelines and curation workflows (collection, labeling, quality checks) to support training, validation, and continuous improvement of models.
- Optimize models and software for embedded/edge deployment (latency, memory, power), including acceleration, quantization, and runtime profiling.
- Integrate software on embedded/real‑time platforms, interfacing with sensors, actuators, and vehicle networks; implement robust logging, telemetry, and diagnostics.
- Facilitate software and asset management, including versioning, licensing, and maintenance contracts; ensure compliance with relevant open‑source and third‑party terms.
- Prepare and present clear technical reports, design documents, and recommendations to technical and non‑technical audiences; articulate risks, assumptions, and mitigations.
- Adhere to applicable safety, security, and quality standards, contributing to hazard/risk analysis, verification/validation evidence, and compliance documentation as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, coding standards, and ways of working; participate in departmental improvement activities and knowledge sharing.
Experience Required
- Degree in Robotics/Automation/Computer/Electrical Engineering or related fields.
- Strong skills in C++ (14/17) and Python for real-time/embedded systems; ROS/ROS 2 experience.
- Proven experience in perception/sensor fusion/SLAM and control for mobile robots.
- Deployment on NVIDIA Jetson / embedded Linux; CUDA is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of ISO 25119 / EN ISO 13849 and functional safety lifecycle.
- Proficiency with Git/CI, testing (unit/integration/HIL/SIL), and telemetry tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Unreal/Unity for simulation and synthetic data generation.
- MLOps (experiment tracking, data catalog, pipelines) and familiarity with internal tools (e.g., Datahub/Airflow/Databricks, OneTrust AI Governance).
- CAN/ECU diagnostics and automotive-like standards.
- Knowledge of Responsible AI practices and EU AI Act readiness.
