We are actively seeking a Launch Manager to join our team in Wichita. In this role, you will facilitate new product launch and current product enhancement activities within the manufacturing environment. In addition, you will work to improve manufacturing efficiency, cost. product quality, and worker safety by analyzing current methods, new methods, new technologies and cost reduction activities in selected areas.
- Representing Manufacturing in Platform-level discussions regarding new product launch topics.
- Manage multiple projects and programs from initiation to completion phase.
- Good understanding of new product development process and framework (GPD)
- Drive phase gate reviews, create risk mitigation plans, escalation pathways, and track lessons learned.
- Define and control manufacturing capex and launch expense budget.
- Demonstrate ability to lead cross functional teams and drive consensus with stake holders and meet launch deliverables.
- Work with Product Engineering to drive Design for Manufacturing optimization and catch opportunity for innovative process application.
- Contribute to new process definition and optimization, quantify new tools and equipment study, purchasing and installation, according to the project plan.
- Develops metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output and identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks.
- Manage new product launch builds, define timelines, drive manufacturing setup, and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Conduct detailed analysis of facility to determine new product line requirements, location, manpower, material flow, and tooling/equipment setup.
- Support current product cost reductions, quality improvement projects, and other projects as required.
The salary range for this position is $81,000-$119,900 annually (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- A minimum of 6 years of manufacturing experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Successful new product launch experience
- Strong project management skills
- Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Good understanding of the design change and part procurement processes
