Job Description:

Primary and Secondary duties:

Key Skills required:

·      Laser cutting & Bending machine specialist.

·      Plant maintenance specialist including exposure to TPM.

·      Hands on experience on Preventive and Autonomous maintenance of plant equipment

·      People Management

·      Line Balancing: Develop & implement line balancing.

·      Resource Optimization: By De-bottlenecking, Layout modifications, Workflow optimization

·      Operational Review: Ergonomic assessment for Operator utilization, Facility utilization, Labor cost, Capacity Augmentation, Job contract cost etc.

·      Process Documents – PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP/OPL, ISO 9001, OHSAS 45001 & ISO 14000.

·      LCB best practices implementation

·      Project Coordination

Customer

Strive to reduce cost and increase productivity across Operation area.

Accountable to output of Laser & bending area as per schedule.

Development of new parts in laser & bending area. Parts layout for laser.

Facilitate Make/Buy strategy and validate MBOM for all the models.

Supervising RFQ, detailed DR and DAP with supplier for tooling development.

Inspection and trial of tools at tooling supplier end.

Spare Parts & consumable for equipment & production monitoring & improvement in usage.

Safety

Accountable for IFI (Injury Frequency Index), FACFI (First Aid Frequency Index)

Accountable for implementation & maintenance of safety work culture in his area.

Daily toolbox talk, training to operators, safety improvement projects, adherence to safe work practices.

Participation in safety, 5S audits. closer of observed points.

Quality & Delivery 

LCB process planning and execution, optimization of processes.

LCB production Quality & timely delivery.

Systematic improvement of Laser cutting & bending process thru world class manufacturing resulting in cost reduction.

Process stabilization and improvement thru bench marking and implementation of LCB best practices.

LCB station designing and proving for Parts.

Prepare the justification document for the capital item requirements for LCB including tooling , spare parts & periphery equipment.

LCB process mapping and evaluation for the quality issues of LCB along with Plant Quality

Solving the problem by various techniques such as PFMEA, POKAYOKE (Error- proofing) implementation.

Process Documents such as PFD, PFMEA & control plan readiness.

Release of LCB documents for production for sugarcane harvester and header.

Profitability

Maximize the effectiveness of the production team, equipment, and materials to produce multi-line products within planned schedules while reducing costs.

Achieve Budget/forecast for Efficiency, Expenses control for LCB shop.

Savings as budgeted min 8%

Cost reduction Initiatives & Project Management.

Shop capacity evaluation and counter measures for immediate increase in production numbers.

Line balancing and takt time calculation and final implementation on-line for various capacity.

Provide technical support on tooling and process and problem solving to other functions and participation as CFT to resolve the critical issues.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Language(s):

Education/Qualifications: B.E. (Production Engg/ Electricals / Mechanical)

Age – 30-35 Years

Experience – 8-12 plus years in the field of Production operations/ Maintenance.

Languages – English, Hindi.

Essential experience and skills:

·      Exposure required specifically in laser cutting & bending operations along with maintenance engineering of such equipment.

·      Knowledge of Day-to-Day operation Management, People Handling,

·      Knowledge of material handling costs and quality improvements.

Key Internal and External Relationships:

Internal: Production, Supply Chain, Finance, Purchasing, Product Development & central Manufacturing engineering team.

External: Suppliers, Agency operator.

Other KPI (non-revenue related):

Tool/process design proved and finally implemented.

No of issues resolved tooling/process/method related issue thru seven step process.
