Job Purpose

The Plant EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and policies within the plant to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This role involves managing risk assessments, regulatory compliance, employee safety training, and environmental protection initiatives, ensuring the plant’s operations are carried out in adherence with applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies and procedures in alignment with regulations.
• Ensure the plant operates in compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, air quality, and water treatment.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Lead investigations of workplace accidents, injuries, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive actions.
• Coordinate and lead EHS training programs for employees, ensuring all staff are aware of safety procedures, emergency protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the reporting of environmental impact, safety incidents, and regulatory compliance metrics to upper management and government agencies.
• Collaborate with other departments to implement and maintain safety systems, such as emergency response plans and ergonomics programs.
• Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices throughout the plant.
• Oversee environmental initiatives to reduce waste, energy consumption, and emissions in alignment with company sustainability goals.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to EHS and implement changes as necessary to improve safety and environmental performance.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and inspectors during audits and inspections, ensuring timely compliance with their findings and recommendations.

Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in EHS management or related roles, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
