We are currently seeking a Mechatronics Design Engineer. This position has a critical role in construction equipment product development to innovate and integrate emerging alternative energies, advanced control systems, automation, and safety and security into Skid Steer Loader, Compact Track Loader, and Compact Dozer Loader vehicles.
- Working with SSL/CTL/CDL product line
- Responsible for developing new products and features
- Maintaining and continuously improving existing products
- Collaborating with product platforms, product validation, centralized technical areas (electronics, hydraulics, software, driveline, cab, engine) during all program development phases to design for interaction between complex vehicle subsystems so to ensure performance and robustness while contributing control strategies for complex systems (Electro-Hydraulic, Driveline, Electrification, Automation)
- Design solutions will be demonstrated by developing documentation, specifications, flow charts, diagrams, tests, and functional proofs-of-concept to support problem analysis
The salary range for this position is $74,000 – $108,000 annually (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology (Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical) or other engineering or technical discipline
- 2 yrs + previous experience in off-highway vehicle product development and/or applicable mechatronic system development
Preferred:
- Knowledge and experience of gated milestone development project processes and tools
- Proficient in Design Review, DFMEA, DFM&A, 8d Analytic Problem Solving, Functional Safety Analysis
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
- Strong communication skills
- Familiar with sensors, actuators, and Controller Area Network (CAN) data acquisition systems
- Experience with CAD software, preferably Creo, for design modeling and layout
- Familiar with MATLAB programming language
