Job Purpose
The Large & Compact Tractor team is seeking a Product Validation Manager to lead our product validation team in Fargo, ND. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Product Validation Leader to manage team performance, allocating resources, and ensuring timely completion of test requests aligned with the Integrated Validation Plan (IVP).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technicians across all experience levels.
- Oversee performance management, career development, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
- Conduct regular 1:1s, set objectives, deliver performance assessments, and implement improvement plans.
- Manage team direction, resource allocation, and execution of validation activities.
- Collaborate with the PV Site Leader on staffing, resource planning, and hiring decisions.
- Advocate for and manage internal and external resources, including SOW and agency support.
- Support early product development by enabling technical leadership and risk mitigation strategies.
- Promote technical growth and ensure teams have the tools and training needed for success.
- Ensure high-quality, reliable, and efficient engineering outputs; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Stay informed on industry trends and research to guide team expertise and innovation.
- Oversee preparation and analysis of validation reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain comprehensive test records and communicate progress to leadership and stakeholders.
- Manage capital assets and identify equipment needs to support Integrated Validation Plans (IVPs).
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
- A minimum of 6 years relevant product development / engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Management
- Resource management experience with the ability to delegate responsibilities and to match assignments/tasks to skill sets, experience and capacity
- Demonstrated leadership qualities in building successful teams.
- Experience in driving change, improvement and organizational development
- Hands-on experience with Off-Road, Commercial Vehicle or Automotive products.
- Previous program management experience highly desired.
- Proficiency in completion of multiple medium to large projects from conception to product release utilizing the Global Product Development Process.
