WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

As a Global Infrastructure Architect in IT, you will lead and manage the technical aspects of the organization’s projects and initiatives, ensuring that they align with its goals and objectives. You will lead or enable others to better plan, design, and implement complex IT infrastructure systems and services.
The Infrastructure Architect plays a critical role in ensuring that technology infrastructure is robust, scalable, and resilient to meet the changing demands of end-users, business partners, and other stakeholders.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide technical leadership: The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for providing technical guidance and direction to other IT staff, including Infrastructure Engineers – On Prem and Cloud, System Administrators, and Network Engineers.
• Develop infrastructure strategy: They define and manage infrastructure technology roadmaps, which may involve selecting and implementing new technologies, infrastructure designs and architectures, and automating various IT processes.
• Assesses Technology: The Infrastructure Architect leads proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.
• Manage infrastructure projects: They plan and coordinate the execution of infrastructure projects, such as data center migrations, server consolidations, and cloud migrations.
• Resolve technical issues: The Infrastructure Architect can help identify the root cause of incidents and provide guidance regarding installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of new and existing technologies.
• Budgeting and Vendor Management: They work with vendors to identify new technology solutions and negotiate procurement contracts. They also assess infrastructure-related expenses and develop budgets accordingly.
• Documentation: They maintain and update documentation (such as network diagrams, service catalogues) to track infrastructure changes and ensure the appropriate procedures are followed.
• Operations: Oversee, manage, and optimize daily operational tasks to maximize resiliency, stability, performance, and efficiency.
• Management: They also manage their team and provide recommendations and feedback to improve performance and attract and retain top IT talent.

YOUR KEY COMPETENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a relevant field
• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or related field.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure architecture, design and engineering practices, as well as experience with infrastructure-as-code and agile methodologies.
• Expert level knowledge in at least one server operating system (Windows, Linux, Unix, etc.) and deep understanding of networking and security technologies.
• Experience managing virtualization technologies including VMware.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud hosting technology – Azure, GCP or AWS.
• Strong experience in system architecture design and development.
• Proven ability to drive technical vision and strategy for a technology organization.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of industry standards and technologies, and experience with the development and maintenance of large-scale enterprise systems.
• Strong knowledge of IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
