Job Purpose

Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor the position is responsible to perform all required duties pertaining to forklift operations including the loading and movement of finished goods on carrier beds and into rail containers. In addition, picking and packaging of finished goods in preparation for shipments and various other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow prescribed safety standards, rules and regulations including those regarding the usage of PPE, Emergency Plans and EH&S Policy.
• To monitor for and alert their Team Leader or Supervisor of any abnormalities from the standards in their area. This includes abnormalities in standard processes, standard machine operation, product quality, and logistics management.
• To understand and complete the work content of their assigned workstations within the cycle time and quality standards of the workstation.
• Completes all CILR activities when required, identifies deficiencies in the cleaning cycle and provides suitable suggestions to counteract sources of contamination using CILR.
• During completion of the CILR or Forklift checklist to identify abnormalities and apply countermeasures to them.
• To use the defined method of data collection and record keeping for the area so that information can be compiled and used by the company.
• To operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including forklift trucks, tractors, or any other form of handling material.
• To move, store, and provide parts to different areas of the shipping area as required.
• Effectively communicate with team members to ensure timely delivery of parts and products.
• Loading, unloading, moving, and stacking products and finished goods in the proper location.
• To be involved in the root cause analysis of SEWO, EWO, HERCA, and equipment problems.

Experience Required

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experince in shipping/recieving and /or transport logistics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Grade 12 or GED Equivalency.
• Able physically be able to perform the functions of the position including moderate physical demand consisting of frequently lifting or moving average weight material.
